The Importance of the Hug........
We hug others when we’re excited, happy, sad, or trying to comfort.
Hugging, is universally comforting.
It makes us feel good.
And it turns out that hugging is proven to make us healthier and happier.
The act of hugging reinforces relationships and closeness between individuals.
Hugging can have calming and healing qualities, and helps in reducing tension in the body.
It can reduce any feelings of anxiety and depression.
Also reduce feelings of loneliness.
At this difficult time of Lockdown where we are encouraged to avoid hugging here is a lovely poem shared to me by a friend which I hope helps.
When we are over these times may we never take hugging for granted.
